Killington Snow Report Monday March 26 *Yuck. Better luck tomorrow*

Freeriding, Killington, Skiing, Snow Report, Snowboarding, Uncategorized

Looks okay, but today wasn't the day for it

Mostly sunny, 24* and one heck of a stiff wind

Ugg, Mother nature won again today. It didn’t get cold until early this morning and everything that was groomed was like porcelain on steel. I had skis that were just tuned and I couldn’t get them to catch into anything to make a turn. It was all groomed out and and FROZEN solid.

I did one run and was out before I got hurt. I sideslipped down Skelark headwall>Mid Superstar>High Road> Lower Bittersweet.

The resort announced that they were to close at 2:15 today and it’s a good thing before someone really wrecked them selves up there.

Ironic huh? Too warm the past two weeks to cause havoc with the skiing, now it’s too cold that mountain wisely closed  as it was a steep ice skating rink. Yesterday was the best mogul ski days that I have seen this season and today was one of the worst ski days period. Not like there was much Killington could do about the situation. It just got too cold too quick.

Oh well, Ma’ Nature always wins in the end. Tomorrow will be better with groomed conditions, but my guess it will be Weds-Thurs before it gets much better.

Looks like a groomer got bogged down on Lower Bittersweet. Yuck! Here's to a better tomorrow and the rest of the week on the hill!

Jonathan Celauro Jonathan Celauro started skiing when he was four and still hasn't quite figured it out yet. After college, he moved to Killington and now 16 yrs later, each comprised of 100+ day ski seasons, he's still trying to grasp the whole skiing concept. At this point he imagines his best option is to just go with the flow. "I still find myself dreaming of big mountain lines and deep powder snow." J.C. Shop Our Online Store
