Killington Snow Report Tuesday March 20 *Lemonaide from Lemons*

Freeriding, Killington, Skiing, Snow Report, Snowboarding, Uncategorized

Looking up Needles Eye

Complete bluebird, 74* no wind

I’ve heard several people comment about the snowpack over the past few days. I’ve heard “stressed” and “compromised” thrown around. Whatever it is, you don’t have to think too hard that multiple days with days in the 60′s and 70′s have taken its toll throughout the mountain. There is some good skiing, but lots of the runouts and entrances are weak. Many trails have been breached too.

I had the time today to ski around the mountain and take a look. I took out my powder skis with the dimensions of 150-127-137 and cruised around in the soft snow which was sometimes mushy/crud. Great ski for those conditions. The mushier the better. They handled a groomed out sloppy Lower Bittersweet (Didn’t ski Upper Skyelark) quite well.

My favs today were perfect moguls on Needles Eye, although getting down Panic Button required some doing. Smooth corn on Upper Bunny, Conclusion and up in the North Ridge area. Head on up here to get your fix. There’s still snow!

Jonathan Celauro Jonathan Celauro started skiing when he was four and still hasn't quite figured it out yet. After college, he moved to Killington and now 16 yrs later, each comprised of 100+ day ski seasons, he's still trying to grasp the whole skiing concept. At this point he imagines his best option is to just go with the flow. "I still find myself dreaming of big mountain lines and deep powder snow." J.C. Shop Our Online Store
