Another spring day at Killington with sun and mid 50′s
Snow ReportI did take advantage of the warm sunshine today to head out and make some turns. The snow surface was a very pleasant corn snow that never got sloppy. Upper Skylark to Lower Bittersweet were both fairly flat and nicely carvable. Lower Skyelark and Superstar had big bumps. It is spring time so there are sections with walking required approximately 50 feet from the top of Superstar over to Skyelark (you could still ski right over if you were brave and had mud wax on your rock skis) and there are sections still covered with snow. It is the time of year when we call the conditions spring for a reason. Last week the 19″ of new snow and skiing all over the mountain was truly a treat!! The end of the season is upon us shortly so if you plan on getting out again I wouldn’t wait too much longer. It is always hard to see the ski season end but look ahead to biking, hiking and golf. The mountains have lots to offer in the summer time. Make sure and stop in to visit when you are in the area. Basin is open 7 days a week year-round. The bike shop is all set up and the winter clothing / skis / snowboards are on sale. Lorraine
The Torrey family, owners and operators of Basin Sports since 1991, are determined to continue providing an unmatched experience, both in the store and on the slopes. In the winter we ski daily and we are constantly testing new gear, sampling the conditions, and sniffing out powder stashes. Feel free to ask us any questions that you may have, we love to talk about skiing, snowboarding, cycling, hiking, bootcamp and even snowshoeing. www.basinski.com
