I wasn’t sure what I would find today as I rode up the K1 Gondola, because the mountain was hidden under clouds. There was little bit of fresh snow to add to the early season excitement. As I walked toward the North Ridge area, the snow guns were blasting on Upper Great Northern and the Headwall. Snow guns were also going on Upper Double Dipper. Rime and Reason were both free from guns and had excellent midwinter conditions of groomed snow, although visibility was a bit challenging. The coverage on Upper Great Northern is looking pretty good and I would expect it to be open for the weekend, if not sooner. In the meantime, it was nice to see all the happy and mostly familiar faces, on the walk between the K1 Gondola and the North Ridge area.
