Killington Snow Report Thanksgiving Day Nov 22

Some fine skiing this morning

Killington Snow Report Thanksgiving Day Nov 22

Super bluebird, 32* and just a slight breeze atop Snowdon at 8:50

Killington Snow Report Another gorgeous day at Killington today. The grooming seemed better than yesterday as it skied more granular/machine made/packed powder. My guess is that they really “super groomed”last night to prepare for the big weekend that is now upon us. Whatever the case may be, it certainly skied well. I would say that today was the best day of the past few.

There were light crowds all morning until I left around 11 when it started to build just a bit, but there wasn’t any lift lines or any crowding on the trails at all.

I didn’t get to Rams Head or the Superstar chair today but driving past, there was no lines anywhere I could see.

Hope you all have  a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope you get a chance to get out there this weekend!

Thursday November 1 – Upcoming Weekend Activities and Blast Off Party

Are you ready?

Thursday November 1 – Upcoming Weekend Activities and Blast Off Party

Thursday November 1 Hopefully by now you know of the annual Basin Sports Blast Off party at The Lookout where we’ll be raffling off a Salomon Rocker 2, to be followed by the after party at the Pickle Barrel where we’ll be raffling off a Nordica Hell and back burner as well as a KILLINGTON SEASON PASS. All proceeds to this years event will benefit the Vermont Search and Rescue K9. We’ll be winding things down on Sunday morning at Liquid Art with delicious brunch specials.

On the weather side of things, it looks like there is some colder weather in the near forecast. If we’re lucky we’ll be skiing by Sunday, but my guess is that it wont be till Monday or Tuesday. It also looks like this snowmaking window will stick around for a few days too so hopefully by the weekend of Nov 10 we’re in decent shape! We’ll keep updating the blog and our facebook page as soon as we get wind of Killington opening. I know I’m excited to start the season and I just know you all are too.

In the meantime enjoy the Blast Off Party and good luck with the grand prize raffles and the swag giveaways!

Killington Snow Report Stella “Spring” Conditions

This looks more like winter than it did during winter

Killington Snow Report Stella “Spring” Conditions

Well as the old saying goes, “don’t like the weather wait five minutes”. The day started blue bird, then cloudy with, you guessed it, snow squalls. Light wind, 38* at 11:45

Killington Snow Report, Well today marks the end of daily snow reports for this year. I have enjoyed writing them and I hope you all have enjoyed reading them. After three days of charging hard in dense snow, I was feeling pretty sore and tired. Yes, I know, I’m a wimp. That and the fact that it was still chilly at noon and others were saying that the top half of K Peak side was still set up, it made my decision easier to stay on Superstar chair. I figured lower elevation and softer snow conditions.

So today was a day for ripping up fast groomers. I skied Superstar and Bittersweet, which skied very nicely. Upper Bitter wasn’t groomed, but with skier traffic and warmth it softened up. Same with Superstar. The headwall was bumped up, but the rest was primed for some fast carving. All and all a good day and some fun runs. Tomorrow and Saturday look GREAT. Sunday calls for a chance of showers, but I’m sure there will be a window of opportunity to get out there. As they say up in Mad River Glen, ski it while you can!
