Product Description

The Cotopaxi Men’s Teca Fleece is what dreams are made of. Sustainable, super cozy, and bright as can be, the Cotopaxi Men’s Teca Fleece is the cold-weather cousin of our Teca Windbreaker. Great as a stand-alone jacket or midlayer, each Teca Fleece is made from best-in-class, repurposed fleece and DWR-treated, polyester taffeta left over from other companies’ production runs. This keeps perfectly good materials out of the landfill, instead putting them in the hands of thoughtful adventurers like you. Love a colorway? Better act fast: Teca is made from repurposed materials, which means that each colorway is also limited edition.

-100% repurposed fleece

-100% repurposed polyester taffeta stripes with DWR finish

-Elastic binding at hem and cuffs

-Two hand pockets

-Limited edition colorways

Limited Edition

Because each Teca Fleece is made using leftover fabric from other companies’ production runs, each colorway is also limited-edition. Once your favorite sells out, it’s gone for good!

Cotopaxi’s creed, Do Good, touches every aspect of their company. From their giving model to company culture and sustainable product design, we see our business as a vehicle to make an impact.
As a certified B Corporation, Cotopaxi puts 1% of revenue toward addressing poverty and supporting community development. Through their grant program, they promote organizations successfully improving the human condition. To date, we’ve awarded 42 grants in six focus countries. Learn more about our impact here.
Impact starts with how Cotopaxi  operates. That means taking into account ethics during every phase of a product’s lifecycle—from its design to its manufacture and sale. They’re into funky; they’re into recycled; they’re into treating those who sew their products with respect. To ensure that anyone who touches Cotopaxi products is well-treated, they work with suppliers to uphold a rigorous code of conduct.
The old standard is, well, getting old. By empowering the people who make their gear, building lasting relationships, and ensuring their products come to life under fair, sustainable working conditions, they’re changing the supply chain for the better.
Cotopaxi (kōtōpä´ksē) is an active stratovolcano in the Ecuadorian region of the Andes. The volcano is an important part of the local culture and is held sacred by nearby Andean indigenous communities. It’s also our namesake.
Cotopaxi’s founder, Davis Smith, grew up in Latin America and lived for several years in Ecuador. When he wasn’t in school, Davis was exploring and camping in Cotopaxi National Park. It was here that he developed a lifelong reverence for the strong, hard-working people of the Andes. His time in Latin America also showed him the plight of those in abject poverty.
Davis later moved to the United States, where he pursued advanced degrees in business and international studies. He started several successful e-commerce businesses, two of which took him to Brazil, where he lived from 2010 to 2013. Despite his success, he wanted to do more to make a difference in the world. For his next venture, he decided to merge his love of travel with a poverty-fighting business model. Each customer’s purchase would give to those living in the world’s poorest regions. He named the company Cotopaxi to represent the spirit of adventure, optimism, and determination that he’d experienced during his time in Ecuador.
